About

I am a Research Software Engineer working on the Simons Observatory at the University of Pennsylvania USA, working on data management and visualisation. I also have interests in numerical galaxy formation simulations

I was previously postdoctoral researcher in astrophysics at the MIT Kavli Institute, in Massachusetts, USA. I did my PhD at the Institute for Computational Cosmology at the University of Durham in the UK.

My past work included:

• Leading the THESAN-HR project, interested in studying the back-reaction of reionization on early galaxy formation using the Arepo-RT framework.
• Developing novel analysis tools for large-scale CFD simulations.
• Development of novel sub-grid models for hydrodynamical simulations.
• Error analysis of sub-grid models within cosmological hydrodynamical simulations.
• Leading the analysis pipeline for the next generation of EAGLE simulations with SWIFT leveraging big data and high performance computing.
• Creating novel Lagrangian CFD (SPH) schemes for use in the modelling of astrophysical fluids.

I previously created the Galaxy Makers which was a new leap forward in re-engagement practices for exhibition-style engagement events.

I am the lead developer on the swiftsimio analysis library, and I am a committed open-source advocate.
